Dave and Jamie Finally Did It!!!

Jamie Whetstone will soon be a Reeder!

Dave and Jamie have been dating for quite a while. Our family is thrilled their engagement is finally official!

Jamie and Dave met in their single's ward several years ago when her father was bishop. She graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor's degree in physical education and exercise science. For the last few years she's been working in Cardiovascular research at the new IHC hospital in Salt Lake, but a month ago she started a new job at Primary Children's in pediatric cardiology research. At the moment, she has applied to PA school at the U of U, and is anxiously awaiting to see if she will be accepted.

Dave and Jamie are the marathoners of the family. (this year was her 8th!) So in that vein, Dave took her for a morning jog on Thanksgiving Day, through Layton Hills Park. He'd hidden some flowers behind a bench, and hidden her ring in an ice-cube in her water bottle!

At the appropriate moment he basically told her that of all the things he was thankful for this year, he was most thankful for her, would she be his forever. Then he pulled the ring out of her bottle and she said, "You mean I've been carrying it around this whole time?!" What a cute girl! I just adore her.

Here's her beautiful ring. There's milling on the edges and diamonds on the profile sides as well. They are planning on getting married on March 20th in either the Salt Lake or Logan temple. I'm so excited! I couldn't ask for a better b-day present!

Welcome to the family girl!

I'm absolutely thrilled about it. And I'm sure your Mom is happy about the upcoming nuptials. This is the best time in your life to have sisters, you're blessed and so is the rest of your family. I still have visions of Dave sitting with his cello and hugging it. However, he told me he was resting til he had to play.
