Reeder's New Bathroom

Hooray! After a major reconstruction effort, my parent's new bathroom is finished!

The before shot:

Ok I may be exagerating a wee bit, but it was pretty bad. So to start, my mom, Amanda Reeder, and I got all dressed up in respiratory masks, goggles, and shower caps, (which scared the crap out of my kids) cleaned out various soggy boxes of who knows what and demolished the existing walls and infrastructure, and cleaned up the mold.

Then the week before Russ and Amanda's wedding, Ben took the week off work, and he and his crew, (my saintly in-laws) took off like a whirlwhind and made a masterpiece.

Ben spent a good amount of time sanding various things and spreading dust all over the house.

The new toilet that can suposedly flush a bucket of golf balls with less water than a regular toilet. We've not yet tested this claim.

Check out the cool cam lights Ben put in above the sink and toilet. There wasn't room for a regular light fixture because of the box that covers upstairs piping. But I think the cam lights are cooler anyway.

There was a little less than a foot of space between the tub and the wall, so they installed this bench, the perfect place to sit while shaving one's legs.

Andy, the expert, tiled the shower walls.


Dad Bardwell tiled around the window. He was also the master tile-cutter. Some of his pieces were a foot long and 3/4 inches wide!

Many thanks to all who so unselfishly gave up their free time for the last month or so. My mother is so grateful and gets emotional every time she thinks of her beautiful new bathroom. All us Reeders are deeply indebted to you!
