As if the previously posted story wasn’t enough to make this a great day. Here comes some really fun news! After writing about Smarty’s eating habits I decided it was time to try chocolate chip pancakes again. Smarty was excited by the ch. chips, but I was skeptical as chocolate hasn’t been enough of a motivation in the past. (Unlike me, I’d do just about anything for chocolate, especially now that I’m on Weight Watchers!)
But Smarty cheerfully helped me measure and pour and stir. Some anxiety popped up a little later, but we worked through it and soon, he was scarfing silver dollar-sized pancakes and laughing at my exaggerated attempts to pick my jaw up off the floor! I think he ate 5 or 6 in all, a record smashing performance by anyone’s standards!
As for little Sweety, today was his first official physical therapy session. His core and arms are still not strong enough to enable him to crawl and do other proactive things. However, we are grateful that his legs are strong. He is getting good at cruising furniture and alternately picking up his feet.
Any-who, this week has been tough enough on Sweety. We had strep at our house a couple of weeks ago, and he hasn’t wanted to give up the being held and cuddled 24-7 thing. Also, I’ve had to start weaning him off me, totally against his wishes. Needless to say, Sweety, has been a little unhappy this week.
I was a little nervous because anyone who has undergone therapy knows it’s a grueling experience. I was worried about how the session would go with so much baggage attached. As it turns out, my worrying was unwarranted. (I know, it usually is) Sweety was awesome. He complained about each exercise, but he worked very hard and calmed himself down really well in between. He was such a trouper!
So today I’m busting my buttons. I’m dang proud of my great little boys!
