Ben Slays Bambi!
Congrats Ben! He brought down a two-point at 600+ yards last Friday. I'm far too ignorant to share any details that would be meaningful to the hunter crowd. I'll try to convince him to post about it.
He's been living it up in Panguitch, Ut since Thurs, enjoying some much deserved playtime. The boys and I are proud of him, but we're all looking forward to his triumphant return. Sweety had a tough time in church today. He's usually Ben's little church buddy, and he wasn't as happy to hang out with Amy or I.
Today when I asked Smarty where Dad was he said, "He get a deer at the deer store." I pointed out that Dad went into the woods to find them, and that deer are good hiders. Then after a thoughtful minute he added, "I want Dad bring a sheep too!"
Hmmmm... I hope Smarty doesn't think we will be aquiring some new pets! Looks like I have some explaining to do. Wish me luck!

My grandpa did a lot of hunting when I was a kid. For some reason I never connected all the pictures with dead deer and the antlers in the shed to the venison I was eating until I was about 10. Maybe I'm just a little slow. :)
That picture is great! Congratulations to Ben...I've never been hunting and probably never will go, but it sounds like quite the task to knock something down from 600 ft away. Lyn, you don't have to clean it do you?
My husbands family is really into hunting. it's been a tradition for years. They usually camp, but they sold their trailer, and thus, no more camping! I have only gone once, and I stayed in the trailer the whole time. I don't like the out doors! But, yeah for Ben on getting a deer! Will you have to eat the meat?
Good luck with the explaining!!!! So cute!n
BTW from what Dad said it was more like 1000 yards. Which is really, really far, apparently.
