An Update

It's been a busy week! But freezer corn is finished and after peaches next week, canning and freezing season is officially over! Woo-hoo!

Yesterday my cute 3 yr old came home from school with acute ear-pain. (He never says anything about pain until its acute!) Apparently the fluid from his broken nose caused a 'swimmer's' ear-infection. His canal was so inflamed that it was nearly closed completely, and the doc was considering having a wick inserted to keep it open for drainage. (Like we need more health drama right now!) Much to our relief, Smarty's pain is much less this morning, and it looks like ear drops will effectively alleviate the problem.

Speaking of Smarty's nose, it displayed a beautiful array of colors all through this week. Browns, blues, greens, and even purples! But as of yesterday it's all fading to a greenish-yellow, and the swelling is definitely lessening. It's been fun, but I for one am ready to bid a fond farewell to the rainbow on Smarty's face.

Glad to hear your canning season is almost over...Mine is still in the middle since I do salsa and tomato juice and my tomatoes just have enough to start now.

Good job to sweety on his first steps, you must be so proud of him!

I sent you an email..
