Here at our house we've been marveling at how creative parents are, these days, about spelling their kids names. Our names are pretty clear and simple, so naturally we all feel kind of jipped. We've decided the way to make ourselves more noteworthy is to needlessly complicate our lives by using the most obscure and tedious spellings for each sound of our names.
So, please, make a note. Henceforth, we will be using the following spellings for our names:
- Cmar-Deey (pronounced "Smarty")
- Cui-Deigh (pronounced "Sweetie")
- Llhinne (pronounced "Lyn")
- Vhaindgha'mygn (pronounced "Benjamin" using the Spanish "v")

love it! i think the first time I heard the name "Trey" i was a little confused. And you should see the names my niece's friends have called their children. I wonder if parents now days actually think about what they are doing to their children when they give them strange names..or common names spelled out of the box! :)
I think that she had way too much fun with my name. I also said we should spell Skylar - Schielure. And Jessica - Gheiscikah. But there aren't any in our family so it is irrelevant.
Not to be too picky, but I believe you need just a little more of what I like to call "the random and senseless addition of the letter Y". You know, like:
Cymar-Dyeey
Cyu-Deigh
Llhyinne
Etc. I cant even pronounce that version of Benjamin so I can't Y it. I personally like BennJahMin.
I am proud of you though, for incorporating the random hyphen and the ever popular "eigh" spelling. Kudos.
Oh and I almost forgot! The addition of "MC" to any name, or WORD, ever invented.
So in the case of your future kids, my vote is for McMarcelus, but spelled McMarCeLus. Just sayin'.
And on a semi-unrelated note, I was looking at some geneology/family tree type thing of the Bardwells and talk about crazy names! I wrote some of them down because they are so crazy.
Orange, Remembrance, Smead, Consider, Content, Experience, Waitstill, Wealthy.
I know there were more, but I can't remember them all right now, but there you go. Your next child can be McRemembrance or McWealthy or McConsider. Yay!
My neighboring teacher just got a new student Caendyce - oops I've not got enough letters in that yet. Sorry And please remember my all time favorite Lea-a. When pronouncing, remember "the dash don't be silent".
You're kind of a nutbar. Love you.
Or there's always the spelling it right but pronouncing it weird school of thought. My neighbor spells her name Monica but you pronounce it Moanica. Now, how in the world would you know that by looking at it!
