Amanda and Russ

I'm so exited we get to finally welcome Amanda to the Reeder family!!! Not Amanda, Ben's sister, and not Amanda, Ben's brother's wife. (stay with me; it's a little confusing) I'm talking about Amanda Porter, the adorable nanny that Russ has been dating for the last year or two. Did you make it through the Amanda talk? (check out this post to see her best impression of the Karate Kid!)

On Friday, the 24th he drove her the 6-odd hours to inspiration point. (the peak just west of Ben Lomond that rises 4 or 5 thousand feet above the valley, providing a panoramic view from Logan all the way to SLC, including all of Willard Bay, and the Great Salt Lake) He told her (I'm paraphrasing here) he was surrounded by beauty, but she surpassed all of it. Then he asked to be his forever, and she laughed and told him he was mushy! So cute!

The kicker is that he gave her a ring that was made for him by a jeweler he baptized in Chile on his mission! Seriously, how cool is that?! I think it's beautiful too. I love that it's non-traditional without being flashy.

One more great story: when he asked her father for permission, he took her with him! Her father merely turned to her, and asked if Russ was the guy she wanted to spend eternity with, and lucky for us, he is!

I can't wait for you all to meet her. She's a gem, and I'm so glad I get to hang with her for eternity! So mark your calendars for Feb 20 (wedding) and Feb 21 (reception), when I'll be adding another Amanda to my little collection of sisters in law.
